Simple Tips To Conserve Gas And Save You Money

By Charles Neshah

Running a car these days is not an easy business; it is expensive and as such requires thorough management of your gas consumption, without which you sooner than later run into debt, have your standard of living lowered or even become bankrupt. Which is why you should be interested in the following gas conservation tips that will save you lots of money.

  • Always ensure that your car is in good running condition. Cars that are not tuned up tend to consume more gas than cars that are well serviced.
  • Do not form the habit of raving your car engine unnecessarily for the purpose of warming up your engine in the mornings. And switch off your engine if it is obvious that your traffic jam will not ease up soon. Keeping your car engine running in a traffic jam consumes gas.
  • Avoid unnecessary journeys; and when ever convenient use public transportation.
  • A car Air conditioner is an added burden on your car engine, use it only when necessary, and as soon as the car is cool, turn off or change the setting to a lower rating. Remember also to keep all windows shut to achieve quicker cooling.
  • Having your car windows open while speeding lets a lot of air into the car to cause unnecessary drag and waste of gas, keep your windows closed to save your gas while speeding.
  • Avoid traffic jam routs, stop and go traffic take a toll on your gas. If a traffic jam rout is inevitable, make effort to leave home early and go through before the jam starts.
  • Every load in your car counts on gas consumption, so carry only what is necessary. For instance, don't carry about in your car the snow chains from last winter. Lave it in the garage till next winter.
  • Do not force your car to speed on lower gear, it is a waste of gas.
  • Remember always that gas consumption and speeding are synonymous.
  • Expensive gas is not meant for all cars. Majority of cars run on regular unleaded gas which price is not that expensive; if your car requires expensive gas, your car manual will indicate so.

All that being said, the bottom line is that you are not supposed to use your car for every movement you have to make. The less you use your car the more money you save on gas. Walk and bike yourself to locations that are not too far. Your car should improve your standard of living, not lower it. Save money on gas consumption.
